Humanity’s Primal Pitch
Science / sport documentary series 3 x 52’/ 90’
Primal Pitch is a three-episode mini-series documentary exploring the very core of our human nature. The episodes approach the art of precision throwing from three different angles and compare them, in the light of top scientific research effort, with the precursor elements to the development of language. We get to the heart of the matter in this quest for knowledge in company of a worthy representative of top marksmanship athletes, Canadian tennis star, Bianca Andreescu, who defeated world champion Serena Williams at 19. It lends itself to very telegenic experiments which probe her mind, reconstruct her body in 3D and evaluate her reaction time to the thousandth of a second. Bianca's quest is helping us to fully realize the surprising link that exists between the ability to throw and the ability to speak.
